I am a Full Professor at the School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). My academic journey began at USTB, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering in July 2012 and my Ph.D. in July 2017. During my doctoral studies, I had the privilege of conducting research at the University of Toronto, Canada, supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) (2015–2016).
I joined USTB as an Associate Professor in July 2017 and was promoted to Full Professor in July 2021. Over the years, I have developed expertise in combining experimental and computational tools to unravel how material structures and properties evolve at the atomistic and electronic scales.
My current research centers on low-carbon and hydrogen-based ironmaking — spanning hydrogen direct reduction, blast-furnace and coke chemistry, and molten-slag behavior — which my group investigates by integrating reactive molecular dynamics (ReaxFF), first-principles and machine-learning force fields, and CFD–DEM modeling with laboratory experiments to accelerate the transition toward green steel.
I am passionate about advancing metallurgy and materials science, and committed to developing innovative, sustainable solutions for the low-carbon transformation of the steel industry.
